Today on the news, someone is asking the city to buy and operate Shaw-Nee Slopes golf course. This would be a sad day for VIP members as we get to play at Shaw-Nee for only $20 per round. With the city running the show, green fees will likely resemble that of Maple Ridge or McCall [...]

This weekend is pretty much the last weekend for golf. For VIP members, there are only a few courses for you to choose from. Woodside, Lakeside, Silverwing and Boulder Creek are the remaining courses that are still open but as of today, both Woodside and Lakeside had no slots. I presume there are no slots [...]

This weekend is probably the last weekend for golf. Most VIP members have packed in their clubs for the season. Some die hards are still out there and if you’re one of them, good for you. The remaining courses that are still open include Woodside, Lakeside, SilverWing and Boulder Creek. As for Saturday, Woodside and [...]

Without stepping outside today, you are tempted to call VIPGolf and see what’s available. I’m pretty sure Rob would love to hear from you. But if you do plan to play, dress warm. If you missed the action and want in, here’s the scoop on Saturday:
1. It looks like Lynx [...]

If you had played Wintergreen today, you would have had a lot of casual water because most of the fairways were wet. There were puddles, almost the size of a small lake on some fairways. Lucky that carts cannot go everywhere, otherwise some would have been stuck in knee high mud.
It was a brilliant day [...]

Yesterday at River Spirit was really fun. We managed to play with two members, Lyle and Jan. Lyle had a single digit handicap but because he was social, he couldn’t focus on his game. Overall, it was good company and sunny skies.
Lyle was the kind of member that wants to see improvements such as additional [...]

With hot summer days coming up this weekend, it is almost impossible to book anything in Calgary and the surrounding areas. I would think it would be the same in Northern Alberta too. I managed to book River Spirit on Saturday and Wintergreen on Sunday so I’m all set. Everywhere else is booked up solid. [...]
