They say they open at 8am Monday thru Thursday and 9am Friday and weekends but they never seem to answer the phone right on the hour. Today I called and even though I was one of the first ones through, it was useless. Their system was down and they could not accept any request for [...]

With cooler temperatures this weekend, I would have thought most of you VIP Golf members would have stashed your clubs away for the season. But it wasn’t the case this morning when I called in to reserve for Saturday.
If you missed the action and want in, here’s the scoop on Saturday:
1. It looks like Lynx [...]

After the season, you are going to count up your savings being a member of VIP Golf. However, before the season ends, go through your receipts and make sure you are being charged for golf that you played. The administrators are notorious for charging you for golf that you had cancelled. For instance, I have [...]

I played with two members at River Spirit over the weekend and they are heading out to Maui tomorrow. He seem to have every thing in order, as he had booked all the popular tourist courses in Maui including Makena, Wailea and Kapalua Bay Beach and Plantation course. By the 7th hole on Millburn, he [...]
It’s not Winter yet

If you had played Wintergreen today, you would have had a lot of casual water because most of the fairways were wet. There were puddles, almost the size of a small lake on some fairways. Lucky that carts cannot go everywhere, otherwise some would have been stuck in knee high mud.
It was a brilliant day [...]

Yesterday at River Spirit was really fun. We managed to play with two members, Lyle and Jan. Lyle had a single digit handicap but because he was social, he couldn’t focus on his game. Overall, it was good company and sunny skies.
Lyle was the kind of member that wants to see improvements such as additional [...]

With hot summer days coming up this weekend, it is almost impossible to book anything in Calgary and the surrounding areas. I would think it would be the same in Northern Alberta too. I managed to book River Spirit on Saturday and Wintergreen on Sunday so I’m all set. Everywhere else is booked up solid. [...]

If you’re driving out to Canals at Delacour, make sure you bring your GPS or a good map of Calgary. There is construction on Country Hills Blvd between 36 St and 52 St, so a detour is in place. If you follow the detour, it will take you south into Taradale then into Saddleridge which [...]
Golf + Power Cart

There are a few courses that require you to take a cart. Wintergreen for one, includes the cart for $45. Range time is also included but you can’t take your driver out because the range only allows irons. They also have a chipping range with unlimited range balls.
Another course with an included cart is the [...]

If you’re in the market for some demo equipment, head down to River’s Edge Golf Club because they are clearing golf equipment at 40% off. Since you’re there, you might as well get some new golf shirts and play a round too.
We stayed for a 8 oz NY Striploin last night for $13. With the [...]
